Hello Kathy,

I have been so looking forward to writing to you today because I have so much to share with you. (I promise I won't tell you everything all at once even though I would love to sit and chat.) This is one of my favorite connections because often I hear back from you about your 'goings on" too! I hope you will take a minute to let me know how you are doing in this new year. I would love to hear.

GREEN HOPE COACHING with KATHY BURRUS turns SIX years old. 1/11/17

I am very grateful to be celebrating this milestone. Today I reflected on the learning, the accomplishments, the growth that I have experienced over the past 6 years. I had no idea what God was doing when he placed this ministry/business on my heart. I might have run if I did, but I have discovered so much about myself and seen incredible things happen in and through this work.

Mostly my heart has been filled with gratitude for the people that have been in this journey with me. Cheerleaders, coaches, mentors, friends, not to mention clients. I would not be taking my next steps without all the encouragement and support I have received.

Thank YOU! I am most grateful the way you have touched my life with yours!

My Word for the year is EnJoy!

I am quite excited about this word. Over the last 10 years my words have been Hope- Hope & More HOPE! I had that word for several years. It's a great word, but it was a desperate time for me. One year the word was TRUST, another year it was BE STILL (I know technically two words, right?) Last year my word was FINISH which was appropriate since my goal was to complete the Lovely Traces of Hope book.

These were all great words and they were significant to me at the time, but they all had a urgency to them, desperation is still the better word. Even being still was a challenge word at the time.

But this year, the word that keeps coming to me is EnJoy! (with the exclamation point). I've never had a word like that. I love the definition to 'take delight in" , or to savor, relish, feast one's eyes, bask, benefit. Ah, I love the sounds of those words. I had to question whether this really could or should be my word. It doesn't seem like I am working hard enough if I EnJoy!

But this is the word that comes to me through Scripture, leaps off the page at me in bold letters, resounds through music, in conversation and my thoughts. My mentors and coaches have reminded me that I have done a lot of hard work over the past 5 years. Now is the time to embrace the joy of EnJoy! and see what happens.

So I EnJoy! my days, my family, my friends, my coaches and mentors, my clients- all friends that have made such a difference in my life. This is such a fun way to live. It has been a long time coming. I am working, harder than I have before, but I am thoroughly EnJoy!ing the work. I still have challenging circumstances in my life, but I am finding ways to know joy in the middle of the pain. It is good.

emPOWERful 2017

Last year GHC with Kathy Burrus began hosting POWER HOUR Lunch Calls to help women take their next powerful step. The accountability of these groups made such a difference that some of the women chose to take part in all or most of the groups we held.

So this year, we are making the name of the groups more EnJOY!able and we are calling it
emPOWERful 2017: EmPOWERing women to make their POWERful difference.

Last year, one woman reconnected with her vision for her business and tackled a goal she had thought about for 2 years or more. She wrote, "Woohoo! 2 responses from my 13 LinkedIn emails!! One is coming to an event and bringing a guest, the other is coming to a complimentary session!! Thank you for keeping me accountable!"

Another woman took on the challenge of a newsletter for her business and found a system to help her educate her business community on a more regular basis. She texted me "Thanks so much Kathy. So good to be moving forward! U R in the right field!!

That's just two of the responses. Each woman conquered the fear of learning something new or the desire to procrastinate and are now seeing POWERful results. Both of these women took part in several of the POWER hour sessions last year.

Lovely Traces of HOPE Update

Many have asked how book sales are going. They are fine, though I had to take a giant step back from the process after finishing the book: writing, publishing and dedicating was more emotional and exhausting than I ever imagined. But it is great to begin hearing from those who have read it and begun to connect with their own story. I am looking forward to what is ahead.
