Happy New Year Kathy, 

I know! January is already half over. But it is still a new year and I do hope you are happy in it. 

We are celebrating!  

January 11th was the 5th anniversary of the day I declared publicly to my world that I was opening a private coaching practice called GREEN HOPE COACHING.

On 1-11-11, I stepped out into a world I had never even imagined until just weeks before, to do something that I hoped would make a difference in my world, because it is important to me to do something to truly make a difference in someone else's life.  I just never fathomed the possibility it might have for changing mine.

It is times like this that inspire me to take a step back and look at the progress I've made. I have put some of my 5 YEAR insights on my blog at www.greenhopecoaching.com. but I thought I would like to share a few of those here. 

Five years ago I knew:

• I wanted to use my design to help people live using their designs.
• I had lived my entire life asking questions that very few others seemed to be asking. But I didn't ask those questions because I thought surely everyone thought these questions of themselves, they just weren't asking out loud.
• I had to do something that allowed me the flexibility of dealing with my health: mental, emotional, physical and spiritual.  It seemed like I needed a lot of health days so I had to create a job that would allow me the freedom to take care of me.
• I loved opportunities to come along side people in their joys and celebrations; in their sorrow and grief. 
• I needed to generate income by doing something that was life giving to me and to others.

I didn't know was how hard it would be:

• to define the roles I take to use my design. 
• to admit I can't help everyone and find the people I can help most. 
• to recognize my value and earn a living being me.
• To allow others to make their own choices and still be there for them.
• To dig deep enough within my own story to transparently finish the story that my daughter Leisha started before she died.   

I noticed several themes have shown up repeatedly in the last 5 years:

• It does no good to compare myself with others who are where I think I want to be. Yes, I can learn from them.  But I have never been very successful at being someone else.  I am Me.  I am in my season- of life, of age, of energy, of thought, of understanding.  I must find the way I am my best in business and ministry.
  
  
• I have a hard time accepting things as they are.  I often dismiss the celebration of the good things that happen in an effort to not become over confident.  I rush through the blast of the hard things in hopes to prove I can overcome. Or maybe it is to prove God is able to overcome, as if I fear people watching me may think less of Him because I can't get it together.
  
  
• I ask questions! Lot's of questions.  People need me to ask the questions so they can find answer themselves. But they don't always need a coach. Sometimes they just need a friend.
  
  
• I can make great plans and I mean really great plans. That doesn't mean they will happen. It's not about the destination but about the journey to get there.
  
  
• Much of my work with others is God's way of working with me.  I've not arrived at anything, only a little farther down the road to shine a light for the next person.

It has been good for me to consider where I have come from these past 5 years.  

But how does this benefit you?

Maybe it doesn't!  Maybe you are great about creating vision and setting and achieving the goals to reach your destination.  Excellent! I'm thrilled for you and would love to share a cup of coffee with you to learn from you. 

But maybe you are not where you want to be.  Maybe you have set goals, but not getting the results you had hoped for. Maybe you need someone to just help you think it through again. 

I get it!  I'm not where I thought I would be at this point as a business owner. But as a coach and as a woman, I've grown in exponentially. I've also had the privilege of walking with amazing people as they begin to move toward the future God has for them. It is sometimes messy, rarely easy, but very rewarding. 

But I couldn't have done that alone.  I have had mentors and coaches, friends and supporters that have come alongside to cheer me on or challenge my thinking and steps.  I am overwhelmed with gratitude for people who have believed in me when I began to doubt myself.

 GHC Opportunities Winter 2016

It's the middle of January- how are you doing with New Year's Resolutions? Need some help?

In celebration of our 5th anniversary, we are offering a TAKE 5.  Five Private sessions designed to assist you in having your best year ever. 

Before January 31st, schedule five 50 minute sessions weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly to take place before May 31st. 

Together we will TAKE 5 to:

• determine your destination
• identify the limiting beliefs and liberating truths
• clarify the AACTION (not a typo) goals 
• create an action plan to work out those goals.
• celebrate each step

Limited space is available. The TAKE 5 fee is $55 per session.  That's 2016 coaching at 2011 prices!  Great deal! Great coaching!

Sessions must be scheduled and paid for by January 31 to get the TAKE 5 special.
       Sessions will take place between now and May 31, 2016.
       Sessions can be in person, via phone or internet.
       Sessions can be used individually or as a married, or soon to be married couple.

Feeling like a lone ranger in your effort to accomplish your goals?

You don't have to GET THERE alone!

Beginning March 2, we will POWER LUNCH 12noon- 1:00pm (Eastern time zone)
on the FIVE Wednesday's of the month.

This will be an internet call which allows extra time that might otherwise be spent in travel. 

Our purpose is to GET THERE; accomplishing our goals for this first quarter of 2016. 

You have already spent half of January trying to GET THERE by yourself. How is that going for you?  Why not position yourself to succeed by joining a community that will help you:

• Clarify vision and your goals
• overcome obstacles
• build in accountability
• share insights
• celebrate your success.

This group is open to:

• women 18 years and older,
• determined to finish what you started.  
  • a project you need to complete,
  • a job that needs done,
  • a goal that needs to be reached.

It could be related to life, career, or community.

AUTHOR UPDATE: Lovely Traces Of Hope

It was my hope to have the manuscript for the book completed and edited by the end of 2015.  But I failed to take in consideration what the emotional impact would be in the writing, which involved my physical health.  I needed to step back- or perhaps step into my grief a bit more to uncover a clearer picture of one portion of our story. 

Now I need your prayers as I complete the last section of the book this month.  I know the Lord has been working in me, teaching me, showing me more about the mystery of his work in my life. I know it has the potential to strengthen what I share in the book.  

Please pray specifically that I can share the journey honestly and authentically. 

I have had to move back the proposed launch date, but Lord willing, emotions healing, we will be able to confirm our launch date within a few months.
