GHC Fall Opportunities
Dear Kathy,
Welcome to a new season of opportunites!

Remember back in January when you made all those big plans for the New Year?  Two hundred and sixty-five days ago you had visions of accomplishments and success.  So how did your year go?  Have you accomplished the things you dreamed of back then?

My guess is that some of the items on your list got crossed off- maybe because you got them done, but maybe it was because you decided you didn't want to do them.  Why?  Did you see that those dreams didn't really get you where you wanted to be?  Or maybe they felt too hard to try?  And what about the ones that are still on the list?  What are you going to do about those?

How would you like to remember this year?  If the year ends as the last 260 have gone, how will you feel about it?  There is still time to redeem it. Did you know that from Sept 20th to December 31st, we have 100 days left in the year 2012?

I remember in high school when Rennie was running track, his coach would always urge him to 'finish strong'!  No matter how the rest of the race went, be sure to finish well.  Now in Ren's case, he was often winning those races. But it was still thrilling to watch as he gave it all he had left to finish the race strong.

I'm IN!  I'm choosing to be free and healthy in the next 100 days of 2012. I've made a choice to really focus on my end-of-year goals in these first 77 days.  That will put me right up to Thanksgiving.  Then I can enjoy my family and holiday events in the remaining days.

So in the next 100 days, what do you still want to accomplish!  It's not too late!  Join me won't you!Let me know how you want to end your year!  Let's encourage each other on the journey!

Life is lived forward and understood backward. ~Kierkegaard

TO BE TOLD Local Group starts TUESDAY

to Be Told
11 Week Local Group
Tuesday's at 10am at Crossroads Church, Lima
September 11- November 20, 2012

Everyone has a story!  Every life is a story!

Allender says some are joyful, others painful; some take place over years, others in a moment. These stories and your response to them add color, shape, and texture to "you." If you're looking to make sense of who you are, the stories of your life need examining. Rather than passively allowing your stories to define you, To Be Told  will help you engage your stories honestly and open the door for God to transform and redeem them. The exercises in this book encourage you to write your stories, wrestle with them, and find God behind them.

Cost: $275 (includes book and materials)

Leisha's HOPE Update
The floor has been laid for the foundation of the HOPE cabin!  Plans are being made to put up the walls in the next two or three weeks.  After the construction team gets that done, we'll be needing help! Some of the items we could use your help with will be:

  • Staining the cabin inside and out
  • Painting the door
  • Putting together and staining 2 chairs to sit in front of the cabin
  • Landscaping around the cabin

If you would be willing to donate some time and energy to help us complete the project, just let me know.

We are planning to host the HOPE CABIN dedication October 7 or 14. Be watching for that information as we get closer.

Our LEISHA'S HOPE project came out of our story!  It came from a desire to continue the influence of hope in the lives of others.  Most people don't know how to read their life in a way that reveals their story.  They miss the deeper meaning in their life, and they have little sense of how God has written their story to reveal himself and his own story.

"We read and study a great variety of sources and spend time researching our options in order to live in the right direction.  Be we seldom approach our own life with the mindset of a student, eager to learn, gain insight, and find direction for the future.   We habitually push aside the one thing that can clarify not only how we got to where we are today but also where God is leading us tomorrow and beyond.  Our own life is the thing that most influences and shapes our outlook, out tendencies, our choices, and our decisions. It is the force that orients us toward the future, and yet we don't give it a second thought, much less careful examination.  It's time to listen to our own story." - Dan Allender

Join us for the TO BE TOLD group. Use the next 100 days to listen to your story!  Register today! We start Tuesday.
