Dear Kathy
Whew! What a month this has been!
In the past 30 days, I have celebrated
- my mother-in-law's 80th birthday,
- my birthday (you guess which one!),
- my daughter Leisha's 24th birthday
- and my fathers 80th birthday .
For lots of reasons these have each been significant celebrations for me. Each event prompted conversation with dear friends and family- some from long ago. So many stories we have remembered together with them. Stories of people who left their mark. Stories of events that significantly changed the way people thought or behaved. Stories of a life lived in such a way that it made a difference in the stories of others.
I have been in awe of the influence of a life!
Whether it is the long life that our parents have lived or the short journey of my daughter, each life has made a difference in my story and the lives of so many others.
Times like this make me stop and think. What kind of influence is my life having on my world?
So often I get caught up in the busyness of building business and paying bills and being family that I forget about connecting with those things I am most passionate about. But times like these cause me to ask the questions that bring me back to what's important.
So who are the people in your life that have influenced your life?
Was it a good or negative influence?
Is it the kind of influence you want to replicate in the lives of others in your world?
As I work with women- and couples who want to make difference- I hear them ask the same questions. So I'm focusing our spring groups on them. Check out the opportunities below.
I don't want to waste my energy working on things that don’t matter in the lives of people who do! I'm afraid I've done enough of that in my life already. But I do want to be about the things that leave my world a better place. Conversations that point people to hope. Projects that unite the strengths of others to empower life.
